NASCAR playoff standings, Cup points updated after Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The NASCAR Cup Series playoff standings and overall Cup Series points have been updated following the Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

An exhilarating afternoon ended in controversial fashion, as Kyle Larson took the checkered flag under yellow, kissing the bricks for the first time in his Cup Series career. Ryan Blaney and Tyler Reddick weren’t exactly thrilled with how it all turned out, but Larson added another crown jewel to his collection.

Elsewhere, a myriad of wheelmen made up some much needed ground near the cut-line, like Bubba Wallace, who came home P5 on Sunday. Check out the full aftermath of the Brickyard 400 below, and how each driver’s result affected their standing.

After the Brickyard 400, Kyle Larson is now the only driver with four victories, which catapulted him back to the top of the Cup Series playoff standings. Meanwhile, Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin and William Byron remain hot on his tail, but the Hendrick Motorsports star is beginning to build a cushion.

In addition to retaking the lead in the playoff standings, Kyle Larson is also back on top of the overall Cup Series standings. Sunday was a fruitful one for him, but Chase Elliott and Tyler Reddick are still within striking distance, with both wheelmen within 15 points of the No. 5.

As you can see, Kyle Larson had an epic Sunday in Indianapolis, due to his victory in the Brickyard 400. He became the latest Hendrick Motorsports wheelman to kiss the bricks, and it’s only one example of the memorable season he’s having. With the Cup Series off until Aug. 11, he’ll have plenty of time to celebrate this one.
