With Super Bowl LIX now in the rearview mirror, it’s time for NFL fans to shift their focus forward, to Super Bowl LX.
This year’s spectacle inside the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans featured the reigning two-time champion Kansas City Chiefs being defeated by the Philadelphia Eagles. The historic battle kicked off the countdown to the NFL’s next era of big games, a stretch that includes a landmark Super Bowl LXI in 2027.
While some may already be wondering if the Chiefs will be there for a fourth straight year, there will certainly be plenty of intrigue still surrounding the next several Super Bowls, regardless of their possible involvement.
As the league closes its chapter on the 2024 season, let’s take a look ahead to everything you need to know and look forward to regarding Super Bowl LX and beyond:

Fun Facts:
- The game will take place nearly 10 years after Levi’s Stadium hosted its first Super Bowl. That game saw the Denver Broncos defeat the Carolina Panthers, 24-10 in Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7, 2016.
- The opening ceremony for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy will take place two days before the game, marking the second time in history (Super Bowl LVI, 2022) that a Super Bowl and Olympics will overlap. Both events will air on NBC.
- Levi’s Stadium will later host six matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the Bay Area/San Francisco selected as one of 16 host cities between the United States, Mexico and Canada. This will mark the first time a region and stadium will host a Super Bowl and World Cup in the same year.

Fun Facts:
- Super Bowl LXI will commence nearly 60 years and one month to the day of Super Bowl I, where the Green Bay Packers beat the Kansas City Chiefs, 35-10 at L.A. Memorial Coliseum on Jan. 15, 1967. The game also marks the second time SoFI Stadium, which opened in 2020, has hosted a Super Bowl; following the Los Angeles Rams’ win over the Cincinnati Bengals at Super Bowl LVI in 2022.
- The game marks ESPN’s first-ever Super Bowl telecast, and ABC’s first since Super Bowl XL in Feb. 2006. The opportunity comes as part of an 11-year media rights agreement between ESPN/ABC, Fox, NBC, CBS and Amazon.
- This will be the 15th Super Bowl to take place in California; only Florida has hosted more with 17.
