Brandon Miller wins 6 of 9 finals and the NHRA Top Sportsman World championship to earn the 2023 Top Dragster / Top Sportsman Racer of the Year title presented by Laris Motorsports Insurance

1 – Brandon Miller

Brandon Miller dominated the NHRA Top Sportsman class during the 2023 campaign winning six times in nine finals to earn the 2023 Top Sportsman / Top Dragster Racer of the Year title. The 20 year old Miller was the D1 champ for the third consecutive season, won Top Dragster at the JEGS Allstars for the second year in a row, and also made the Top Sportsman final at the Allstars. In addition to his success in the fast bracket classes, Miller also wheeled a Pro Stock car during the year.

2 – Vince Musolino

Vince Musolino grabs the #2 spot after winning the NHRA Top Dragster world title. In addition to winning five times in five races, Musolino also captured the NHRA D1 championship.

3 – PDRA World Champs

When it comes to fast bracket classes, the PDRA has plenty of them. Not only do they offer racers a chance to compete in Top Dragster and Top Sportsman, they also offer Elite classes for the fastest competitors. Donny “Hollywood” Urban won his second PDRA world title after earning the TS Elite championship in 2023. Steve Furr (aka Fuzz) also raced to a second PDRA championship in 2023 after capturing the TD Elite title. Chad Traylor picked up the Top Sportsman championship while TG Paschal won the Top Dragster championship, his second in three years.

4 – Clint Geise

Clint Geise lands in the #4 spot after finishing 2nd in the NHRA Top Dragster title chase. Geise was a perfect 4 for 4 in finals on the season while earning the D6 championship.

5 – Mike Moorehead

Mike Moorehead secured a Top 5 showing after winning the D4 championship while finishing second in the national standings. Moorehead raced to five finals on the season which included a double-up at the Tulsa Divisionsal.

6 – Doug Crumlich

Doug Crumlich also made five final round appearances last season on his way to a fourth place finish nationally. Crumlich won the NHRA D2 championship on the strength of four victories in his five finals.

7 – Blake Peavler

2021 Top Dragster World Champ Blake Peavler posted a third place finish nationally to earn a Top 10 spot. Blake won twice in four finals and finished second in the D3 standings.

8 – Dylan Hough

Dylan Hough won twice in four finals in 2023 while posting a 4th place finish nationally and a second place finish in the D6 standings.

9 – Bryan Warr

Bryan Warr secured a Top 10 showing after finishing third nationally in the Top Sportsman class. Warr won twice in four finals and finished second in the D7 standings.

10 – Jeff Strickland

Former World Champion Jeff Strickland posted a perfect final round score in 2023 winning three times in the process including the prestigious US Nationals. Strickland finished fifth nationally and won the D2 TD championship.

10 – Rick Okerman

Rick Okerman closes out the Top 10 List after racing to five final round appearances during his 2023 campaign. Okerman’s consistent final round showings propelled him to the D7 Top Sportsman championship.
